Pets for Adoption
If any further information is needed or you are interested in adopting any of the pets listed, please feel free to call (251)649-6709.
We currently have the following at the clinic available for adoption:
- Stella is a tan and white spayed female Walker/Red Bone mix that was abandoned on a dirt road. She is approximately 10 months old, heartworm negative, and current on all vaccines. Her personality is amazing. She loves people, playing, and other animals. Please help Stella get her groove back with a loving and caring home. Come and meet her and you'll see her picture does not do her justice.

Freckles is a 9-10 month Yellow Lab/American Bulldog mix. He is named for the freckles on his nose and the blond dappling on his back. He came into a High Kill Animal Shelter with his sister when he was about 8 weeks old. His sister was adopted quickly, but he stayed in the shelter for almost a month before he was adopted by a 5 year old boy and his family. Five days after he was adopted, an angry man brought him back, weighing almost half what he weighed when he was adopted, and said, “we don’t want this dog—he’s not active enough”. Apparently they didn’t realize that puppies get their energy FROM FOOD! It was obvious that they had not fed young Freckles the entire time they had him because his ribs were plainly visible. Freckles was again placed into the Adoption kennels and seemed to be wasting away this time and had no other interested parties inquire about him. He was slated to be taken to “The Room” one day after he was rescued and taken into my Foster home. Because there were other pups around his age in his foster home, Freckles learned how to play and interact with other dogs and humans, too. He is still very skittish around new people and new dogs, but is a very gentle and loving dog with those familiar to him. He loves to be held, scratched and patted and would do well in a home where he is the only dog and all attention can be focused on him. He enjoys playing and running with the other dogs that he lives with, but can often be found sleeping soundly all alone in a corner somewhere. He has a way of looking at you that says, “All I want is to be loved by you”. He is Kennel trained and often retreats to his kennel if he feels frightened or threatened. He does well with other dogs larger than him, but does not like puppies or cats smaller than him. He is very submissive to his elders but can be a little dominant to those younger/smaller than him. For this reason, I would not recommend that he go to a home with small children (under 12 years of age). Freckles has been neutered and is up-to-date on all his vaccinations (including Rattlesnake vaccine). He is Heartworm negative and is on Sentinel for prevention. If you are interested in Freckles, please contact Stacey Holland at (251) 455-0111.
